Content Policy
Last updated: October 1, 2025
This policy sets the baseline for what people can create, share, or experience inside Tabee, including profiles, messages, attachments, presence notes, reports, and any future community spaces. We benchmarked leading language-exchange platforms to confirm our own rules remain at least as protective, then tailored the outcomes for Tabee’s chat, language, and interest-based features.
1. Scope and Principles
- Applies everywhere. Covers all user-generated material across Tabee (text, audio, images, video snippets, and metadata) regardless of delivery channel.
- Safety, diversity, authenticity. We mirror industry best practices that promote respectful, inclusive interactions and authentic identity, making safety the default experience.
- Zero tolerance for severe harm. Content that threatens real-world safety is removed outright; repeat or egregious offenses trigger account/device bans.
- Context-aware exceptions. Limited allowances for newsworthy, documentary, educational, or counter-speech content exist only when they do not enable harm and align with Tabee’s purpose.
2. Content Standards Adapted for Tabee
We map widely adopted community-safety categories to Tabee and close any gaps by adding Tabee-specific expectations. The examples below are illustrative, not exhaustive.
2.1 Violent extremism and organized harm
- No praise, support, recruitment, or funding for violent or criminal organizations.
- No threats, coordinated attacks, or instructions that facilitate violence on or off the app.
- No glorification or symbols of extremist movements, even in private chats.
2.2 Hateful behavior
- No content attacking people based on protected attributes (race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or other protected traits).
- No hateful slurs, stereotypes, or propaganda that demeans protected groups.
- No promotion of hateful ideologies or calls for segregation or exclusion.
2.3 Illegal activities and regulated goods
- No coordination of crime, including fraud, human trafficking, or property damage.
- No buying, selling, or promotion of weapons, explosives, or hacking tools.
- No trading or guidance on drugs, controlled substances, counterfeit items, or illicit financial schemes.
- No gambling services, except where clearly legal and Tabee has verified compliance.
- No solicitation of personal data or doxxing; respect all privacy and data laws.
2.4 Violent and graphic content
- No depictions of extreme gore or violence intended to shock, harass, or incite.
- Educational or newsworthy references must be clearly contextualized and never celebratory.
2.5 Suicide, self-harm, and dangerous acts
- No encouragement, instructions, challenges, or glorification of self-harm or suicide.
- No content normalizing disordered eating or other self-injury.
- No promotion of dangerous stunts likely to cause injury, especially to minors.
- Empathetic, help-seeking discussions are permitted when they discourage harm.
2.6 Harassment and bullying
- No targeted insults, wishful harm, or coordinated harassment campaigns.
- No sexual harassment, unwanted advances, extortion, or manipulation.
- No threats to hack, expose personal information, or blackmail users.
- Respect block lists; circumventing user controls is itself a violation.
2.7 Adult nudity and sexual activities
- No explicit sexual content, pornography, or sexual services.
- No fetish or sexualized focus on bodily fluids, violence, or exploitation.
- Educational or health-related content must stay clinical and non-graphic.
2.8 Minor safety
- Strict ban on any sexual content depicting or targeting minors, including grooming behavior.
- No imagery of minors in states of undress or participating in risky activities.
- No encouragement of minors to engage in self-harm, illegal activity, or dangerous challenges.
- Report any suspicion of child exploitation; we escalate to authorities when required.
2.9 Integrity and authenticity
- No spam, fake engagement, or automation that misleads other users.
- No impersonation of individuals, organizations, or Tabee staff.
- No misinformation that could cause real-world harm (health, safety, civic processes).
- No intellectual property infringement; share only content you own or have rights to use.
- Maintain a single account per person; do not evade enforcement actions.
2.10 Platform security
- No attempts to hack, reverse engineer, scrape, or overload Tabee’s services.
- No distribution of malware, phishing links, or harmful code snippets.
- No use of Tabee to coordinate attacks on third-party platforms.
3. Operational Requirements for Tabee
- Proactive moderation. Blend automated detection (language filters, media screening, velocity checks) with human review to catch policy violations early, just as top-tier communities do.
- Tiered enforcement. Use content removal, feature restrictions, suspensions, and device bans proportionate to severity and history.
- Reporting tools. Provide clear paths inside the app to report profiles, messages, or media; allow users to add context screenshots or timestamps.
- Appeals. Offer a simple appeals channel for mistaken actions. Repeated or high-risk violations may skip appeal when safety is at stake.
- Law enforcement. Preserve and disclose information only when legally required or necessary to protect life and safety.
4. Tabee-Specific Safeguards
- Language and interest tags. Monitor for misuse of language tags to mask harmful communities or evade filters.
- Location sharing. Default to coarse location (city/country). Never allow users to demand exact addresses; surface safety tips when enabling location features.
- VIP features. Premium perks must never weaken safety (e.g., no bypassing rate limits or blocking tools).
- Onboarding validation. Require accurate age, language, and identity signals; flag risky combinations (e.g., adult seeking minors) for review.
5. User Responsibilities and Support
- Follow this policy, the Terms of Use, and Community Guidelines at all times.
- Use block and report tools when you encounter harmful behavior.
- Contact local emergency services when a situation poses immediate danger.
- Request support or appeal moderation decisions by emailing tabeeappinfo@gmail.com.
Thank you for helping keep Tabee safe, welcoming, and compliant with the highest community standards.
